INTRODUCTION

A TRAINING DESIGNED FOR PRIMARY AND COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

This training program was designed based on content developed with the World Association of Social Psychiatry (WASP) as part of the Fight Against STigma (FAST) program for face-to-face training sessions. This content has been used successfully in several countries (Armenia, Benin, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, etc.) and enhanced by the experience of WASP

  • This training consists of 12 modules

  • It is certified by the World Association of Social Psychiatry, and other institutions

  • It has a total duration of about 15 hours, but you can do it at your own pace

  • The objective is that at the end of the course you can prevent, identify, diagnose and manage the main mental disorders

  • For pharmacological treatment, we invite you to refer to the recommendations of your health authorities. Where appropriate, we have made references in the modules to the WHO mhGAP intervention guide or other health authorities in France and England.

OBJECTIVES

This training is designed as an aid to daily practice.

It can be completed online but the modules can also be downloaded: this minimizes connection time and facilitates consultation at any time.

Objectives of the e-learning, to facilitate the sharing of knowledge

- Improve mental health knowledge attitudes and practices (KAP) of primary care health professionals

- Knowledge and Practices will be assessed after each eLearning module via single-choice and multiple-choice questionnaires.

- The score obtained at the post-module questionnaire allows to validate each module

- A personalized learning dashboard allows each learner to follow their progress through the curriculum

THE PROGRAM IN MALI

The first beneficiaries of this eLearning platform have been General Practitioners from the Santé Sud network. After a pilot and subsequent adjustments, all interested Malian healthcare professionals will be able to get free access to this online training.

THE PROGRAM IN SENEGAL

As part of the training of healthcare professionals to better manage mental disorders, the Ministry of Health and Social Action of Senegal has started rolling out this eLearning program.

The objective of the first phase is to train 300 primary healthcare professionals across the country.

Dr Tine, Head of the Mental Health Division at the Ministry of Health has been collaborating with Prof Moussaoui and various local experts to roll it out

EXTENSION

In view of the countries' demands and the situations that have prevailed over the last few years, e-mental health training has been available on the e-NCD platform since 2022 for the French and English-speaking countries. Its main objective is to help non-psychiatric professionals to respond to mental disorders, whether they are isolated or more often associated with chronic pathologies such as various situations of stress and post-traumatic conflicts.
